Puppy Finding

I had a call from a nice lady in Michigan when I was on Mario’s afternoon show on the Martha Stewart channel. I am so very glad she took me up on my offer:

Hi Tracie,

I’m writing to say how excited I was to talk with you on the phone on Wednesday afternoon last week during your time on Living Today on Martha Stewart Radio. I called in with the question about adding a CKCS to our family and though we are confident this would be a great breed for our family, I have a significant problem with the price tag from a reputable breeder, particularly in this economic environment.

I wanted to let you know that I was calling at the beginning of a trip where we had no internet access. I have just returned home and am beginning to research the resources you suggested to me. I will be back in touch to let you know how things go. Thank you again for your offer of help to find us the perfect puppy for our family.

Best regards,
Rebecca in Plymouth, MI

So my advice to Rebecca was first off, to go to petfinder.com and put in the breed and her zip code and that’s a great beginning to looking for the breed you want.

Also, go to akc.org and see the parent club for cavvies and maybe there will even be a cavvie rescue listed.

The greatest benefit of the internet isn’t to get information (which is often deficient) nor to buy a puppy (volume breeders use the internet as a marketplace) but as a way to find the dog or cat you want – one nobody else wants.

Then I told her I was going to sign her up for the podcast of my other show DOG TALK® which will come right into her computer.
