The Cat Domain

I tuned into your show, and found it very interesting and informative. One of your callers mentioned being awakened by her cat at night, and I thought back to when my husband and I suffered many nights of lost sleep due to our two cats, Rosie and Jimmie, standing on us, licking our hair, hogging the bed, etc. Against my better judgment (I could have sworn cats don’t do well in cages), I gave in and researched cat cages, finding the perfect solution in the Cat Domain (www.generalcage.com, or www.radiofence.com/cat_domain). It’s tall enough to allow for four shelves (two come with; my husband added the others), so there are shelves for climbing up to each of their two small heated cat beds, another for their food and water dishes, and an empty one. It’s even big enough on the bottom for their kitty litter pan. They adjusted fairly quickly (yes, there was the initial 3-4 nights of crying and forlorn howling), and now accept it as part of the nightly ritual. Now we sleep through the night, and I know my cats are comfy and cozy in their Domain. I recommend this to anyone who is awakened frequently at night by their cats!

Dear Denise,

This is a great solution, and one I had not thought of. I’m indebted to you for it, and hope I can squeeze it into THE CAT BIBLE before it goes to press next month. In any case, I’m posting this for everyone to benefit from. Sweet dreams to all!
