Contacting Tracie
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your trust in me to help you live well with your pet. I am running as fast as I can to answer each of your emails but take pity! It's only Me, Myself and I on this end - no support staff of any kind - so before you shoot off that email, would you please take a moment before shooting off that email to look at the suggestions below as ways to find my answers to your question. I want to continue answering every email individually, so if you could please look first at the resources I have put out there for you, then I won't be answering the same things over and over.
If you have any issue not covered there, of course I'd be happy to help you so write to me at dogandcatbibles@gmail.com. I may also use that question on the air or as part of a blog to give other people the information.
I have loved corresponding personally with so many of you, but because of the increasing volume of letters I need to cut back - there are not enough hours in the day. In case you imagined I had some fantastic staff assisting me, I want to set the record straight that I am a One Woman Band – I wrote both THE DOG BIBLE and THE CAT BIBLE without any research or writing help, I produce, write and host both CAT CHAT® and DOG TALK® live every week all by myself. And then there are those hours a day I have spent writing to people – it isn't humanly possible to do it all, it turns out! Even if I could have that "fantasy staff" helping me, for most of the things you want to know only I can give you the answer. (One lady was really funny – she received this message and wrote back to say that "I know you now have an email screener but…" NO! Really, it's still just little old me – by my lonesome. So please take advantage of being able to call in to both shows and talk to me personally - or use this website as a resource (check out the Google search box, it really works) or best of all, buy one of my "Bibles" and you'll have it all at your fingertips.
However, I don’t want to lose the wonderful sense of connection and community that I’ve developed with devoted readers and listeners. So there’s the new plan:
CHECK OUT MY BLOG
I might answer your question right on my daily blog When I receive an email with a unique question, or one that can be of help or interest to more people, I’ll respond to it right there. As much as I hate the word blog (especially used as a verb!) it’s clearly the “modern way” to get ideas across. Please join in the discussion by posting comments.
CHECK OUT THE Q&As ON THE WEBSITE
There are loads of Questions & Answers divided into categories in The Dog Bible and The Cat Bible sections of the website. You may very well find what you need to know there. I spent a lot of time putting peoples’ questions up there so everyone could benefit from my advice – please take advantage of it! You can use the Google search box to find the topic you’re interested in.
CALL ME UP!
I certainly don’t want to lose touch with you individually – since that’s the very thing I have worked to encourage and which is so satisfying – so let’s do it over the phone, which is even more personal. Because of my two radio shows, I have this great opportunity twice a week to take your calls on the toll-free lines. I want to continue to be there for you all, which means all you have to do is write down the times and the phone numbers and let your fingers do the dialing!
DOG TALK® - Saturdays from 11:05 to Noon Eastern time. Call: 800-394-8830
You don’t need to be listening to DOG TALK to call in - although you may want to do that by going to www.WLIU.org and click on “live streaming.” Many people listen to the show on podcast, which I send to my list or people download from iTunes, but I bet you will enjoy listening and participating to the real live show. And I’ll be thrilled to hear from you - your calls are going to make the show even more interesting and meaningful to me and everyone else who listens. My engineer Kyle will put you on hold and I am determined to get to every call that comes in.
CAT CHAT® - Wednesday nights from 8-9 PM Eastern time. Call: 866-675-6675
You don’t need to have Sirius Satellite radio to listen (although you might wind up becoming a subscriber, since you’ll be able to listen to the show while you’re on hold). I already get loads of calls from wonderful listeners but I would just love to have you join the party. My engineer Shavon will put you on hold and I will make sure I get to talk to everyone who makes the effort to reach me.
THE DOG BIBLE & THE CAT BIBLE
Call me crazy, but doesn’t it make sense that if you have problems and questions about your dogs and cats that you take advantage of these books I spent years researching and organizing? People say the great thing is that they look something up and stumble on some other information that they are thrilled to discover. I make donations to rescues and humane organizations across the country based on how the books are doing, so you’ll be contributing to The Greater Good while getting valuable information for improving your life with your pet.
P.S. If you have bought a copy of either book, for yourself or a friend, please do write back and tell me your address and the pet’s and/or person’s name so I can inscribe a bookplate to send you – along with a few surprises!
Let’s not look at this change as a door closing –but more as a window that has opened so we can really speak. Through that window I can get to know you and your pets personally and do an even better job of being there for you, in whatever you are going through with your beloved four-legged family members.
So let’s just say we’ll be talking soon!
Fondly,
Tracie
