Grieving Over a Pet

Thank you for your book. We got it at Walmart. We have read the entire book. We have had a sick dog for 6 months & of all the books we had yours was the best. We put her down on Monday the 7th of Jan 2008 & of course it broke are hearts, all the thoughts you said at the end of your book was wonderful. We are not the only ones who have gone through this. We Love you for all your help. We will love & miss her forever.

Thanks,
Gary & Beverly B. in Sacramento, Ca

Dear Gary and Beverly,

In all the years I have been writing books that made a difference to people, I have never gotten a note as meaningful as yours. My heart goes out to you for your loss, and how you must ALL have suffered during your dog's slow decline, but the fact that in your grief you would be so thoughtful as to take the time to say I made a difference to you is just beyond comprehension. I wish I could do something more to ease your pain.

I will offer an idea which may sound odd to you - but so many people have gotten emotional relief and closure from calling into my radio shows when my official Animal Communicator Ann Marie is on.

I don't know if you are aware of my radio show DOG TALK on NPR but I make it available as a podcast after the live broadcast. Please go to www.DogTalkTheRadioShow.com and sign up - you can listen to earlier shows with Ann Marie. I have her on the first Saturday of every month.

You can also call ME live any Saturday - it's on 8:05 - 9 AM Pacific time 800-394-8830 and I would welcome a chance to talk about your grieving etc on the air because it might help others, too - if and when you might want to.

I also have a radio show on Sirius Satellite called CAT CHAT but i often take dog questions and Ann Marie comes on that the first Wednesday of every month - it is 5 PM pacific time - you don't need Sirius to call in - the number is 866-675-6675 and if you email me ahead of time when you are ready to make the call, i will be sure to take your call - the phone lines go nuts when she is on,many from people who have lost pets and want to make some connection to them now.

Again, my thanks for your extreme kindness in writing - my thoughts are with you.

FOLLOW UP From Gary & Beverly:

Dear Tracie,

Thank you for your kind e-mail, yesterday was a better day, we were able to get her ashes in our hands & hold her again. This is the very best we can do for now. We just got her notice for her health insurance. We would pay it in triple if we could have her back, our son is doing a large collage of all the pictures over 12 years we took. We had a motor home & she was always ready to go with us.

Thank you, Tracie, again for all your help for your book. We will have it forever Gary & Beverly B. Please keep in touch. Did we tell you NanDee was a large red Doberman with yellow eyes.

Love to all your dogs. Kiss them for us.

Gary & Beverly
