Help for a Limping Sheltie

I listen to you religiously on Sirius in my car, and you have recommended some natural meds that I have been unable to jot down while driving.

My 11 year old Sheltie rescue has recently begun to limp after laying down for a time.  She also doesn't run and play like she used to.  I know she is painful and has had numerous blood work and X-rays which show only mild arthritis.  Please tell me the natural meds you recommend for this type of situation.  I want her to be as comfortable as possible.  Rimadyl doesn't seem to be helpful.

Much of her problems, I'm sure stem from her early days as a wild thing that rarely relaxed - she was very hard on her joints.

Thanks you for you fabulous show and please know I want to do all I can for a dog I have come to love so much. (She is only one of our 3 canine rescues!!)

With appreciation,
Christine

Dear Christine,

First, thanks so much for your enthusiasm about CAT CHAT and for being such a great audience, and a great mom to all your lucky "second chance" dogs.

I have great news for your darling Sheltie - that incredible joint supplement that I talk about all the time is called PLATINUM PERFORMANCE and the only way you can get it is to contact the company directly by email or phone (they are all super nice so I recommend phoning). The contact info is under Useful Links/Nutrition on TheDogBible.com

I promise you a dramatic improvement -- so far, I have been never had to eat my words! I have been buying Platinum for my dogs for years and years and I recommend you put ALL your dogs of any age on it - the health benefits in helping prevent joint problems are also great

I have even more great news for you - it's wonderful that you listen to CAT CHAT but guess what - my show DOG TALK on NPR station WLIU will probably delight you even more. I'm going to sign you up for the weekly podcast but you can listen live online every Saturday from 11:05-noon on www.WLIU.org where they stream it live. You can hear it on 88.3 if you live on Long Island, Westchester or Southern Connecticut

Please give me feedback no the Platinum - I want to hear how much it helped!

Best,
Tracie Hotchner
