Water Caused Fur Stains
I'm Jill, from Fantastic Fabrics, who makes all the Dog Talk and Cat Chat baseball caps. Do you remember months ago when i was writing in about the rust-colored tear stains on my darling white dog's face? If you recall, I sent a photo of dark rusty trails down her face.
I was told all sorts of things - to cut out red meat, to give her Tums, to give her antibiotics - none of which worked. And then I experimented myself and discovered it was the water she was drinking - plain and simple. I gave her the simplest supermarket brand of bottled water - regular Stop & Shop bottled water for 99 cents a gallon - and her face is white as the driven snow. She's back on red meat, there are no more Tums in the picture
I don't even clean her face daily anymore or keep the hairs especially short near her eyes. I just use regular Stop and Shop Bottled.
Please TELL THE WORLD!!!!! There are so many people with gorgeous small white dogs with ugly rust stains on their little faces. You don't need a vet's degree or spend hundreds of dollars on specialty cleaning products, no holistic vets and certainly no antibiotics.
The next question of course is what's in the water that changes the make-up of a dog's tears, but that's another story and maybe my daughter's science fair project for next year!
All the best,
Jill
Dear Jill -
Congratulations! You did great detective work and I hope many people will benefit from your perseverance. Give Hannah a kiss on her snowy little face.
Also, lots of people are really enjoying their Dog Talk and Cat Chat baseball caps and it has allowed me to send some nice donation to the Morris Animal Foundation for their great work in medical research for companion animals.
Best,
Tracie
