Dog Talk® Photo Gallery

Dog Talk® and The Dog Bible are our human pack of dog-lovers and listeners and I want to celebrate some of the special milestones or individuals.

If they are canine— the youngest or oldest, smallest or largest, longest-survivor of diabetes or kidney disease or cancer—then they will get their photo posted. The only category we will NOT have is "Cutest" because that's impossible: each of you wins on that one!

So call in or email in anything about yourself or your dog that sets a standard and let's see who else challenges you:

There is a photo of Eve in her bunny ears here in the gallery and sadly she is now "In Memoriam." She leaves a hole in our hearts but we were blessed to have had her in our lives. This recent photo is of her in her favorite pose in the truck.

When I mentioned to Betsy of Purr N Pooch that her new adopted boy Jax is very fair skinned and might need sunblock to go along with his Doggles for beach jogging, she sent this to show he not only has bottled water with him but also a fancy dog sunblock called "Flea the Scene" which I must get hold of!

Sadie (In Memoriam)

This is Sadie, the beloved member of my webmaster Jack's family, who died very suddenly while playing with her human family. Here is what the children had to say about their four-legged sister Sadie:

Matthew: "I miss her."

Luke: "Sadie was my best friend and a imortant part of our family. Sadie was always there to comfort us but now she can't."

Emma: "Everyone in my family loved Sadie. She brought joy to all of us. She wasn't just a dog to me she was my best friend. Sadie loved to play in the snow. In my backyard she would run around in the snow, and when she got tired of running around she would lay down and eat the snow. All of my friends loved her too. I would dance with Sadie. One time I gave Sadie a birthday party, we danced, played games, and took pictures. She was the best dog ever. I can't belive that she's gone. If you met Sadie you would fall in love with her right away. Sadie was funny, smart, cute, awesome, and a best friend. I can't remember one moment without her. Sadie was my whole life. She was a furball of joy. This will be our first Christmas without her. I would do anything for her. I was so sad when she died. I lost my life, because Sadie was my life. Sadie was the best dog ever. I really miss her. Can you imagine losing your best friend? I really miss her. I can't believe she's gone that quick. Everybody loved Sadie. I love you, Sadie! Why did she have to go so fast? I miss her so much."

CHRISTIAN (Sag Harbor) is 11 and our youngest caller - with his Italian Greyhound

GAYLE MARTZ (Paris, France) was our first international phone caller, with her company's Sherpa Bag donation to the Dog Bible Pooch Party at Alison's to raffle for good causes

MATTHEW (Swedesboro, New Jersey) is 13, and our first and most successful "virtual dog" owner with his NintenDogs—a Golden Retriever named Star Light, a black Lab named Lightning and a Dalmatian named Spot. Matthew is wheelchair-bound at the moment because of the inoperable brain tumor he has had since he was 7, so his virtual dogs are a virtual necessity (although his real live Golden, Sadie, thought she was enough!)

NintenDogs - Labrador Retriever and Friends EditionIf you heard 13-year old Matthew on the show Dec 30th, you're probably wondering where to get the NintenDogs for your child—whether they have physical limitations like Matthew, or cannot have a dog for any reason but would love one. You can get them a "virtual" dog to name, train and take care of. Even good to prepare younger kids for the future responsibility of dog ownership. you'll need a Nintendo DS handheld gaming system (Polar White, Coral Pink, Electric Blue & Onyx Black), and you can choose from several versions of NintenDogs, including Labrador Retriever & Friends, Dalmatian & Friends, Dachshund & Friends & Chihuahua & Friends.

BOB (Port Jefferson)- is our oldest Dog Talker at 75, with his black Lab Toby who eats furniture

GiggleGarb.com is the first locally-based business (an online pet boutique) to wave the flag for DOG TALK and the DOG BIBLE POOCH party dinners at Alison's Restaurant - GiggleGarb proprietor Amanda Sherwin will give a surprise door prize at every dinner.

AMUSEMENTS

Dogs Welcome!

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote: "I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"

Order The Dog Bible from AmazonAn immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote: "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."

—Our first Dog Talk Amusement came from Farley, Heidi and Bailey Cartter in Beverly Hills, California
